Dear MPP,
I am writing you today to show my support for Bill 66 and specifically for Schedule 9 of the legislation. This schedule allows workers like me to work on projects funded with my tax dollars. Under the previous government this was not the case and I commend your government in addressing this injustice.
When public institutions such as school boards and cities are able to accept a multiple of bids, this represents an open and transparent process and provides value to taxpayers.
I applaud the decision by the Ford government to address much needed reforms on savings and opportunities for the people. The status quo is costing tax payers millions of dollars and preventing employees regardless of whether they have a union or non-union affiliation, an opportunity to work in their own communities.
I urge you to pass this legislation quickly when the legislature returns in February.
