This eLearning course provides essential guidance on the safe use of hand and power tools in construction, helping workers identify hazards, prevent injuries, and apply proper safety practices on the job site. Participants will learn how to select, use, and maintain tools correctly to protect themselves and others, while reinforcing compliance with Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and the Construction Projects Regulation (O. Reg. 213/91), which outline employer and worker responsibilities for tool safety. While this course offers general practices, learners are reminded to always follow their employer’s specific procedures to ensure both safety and legal compliance.
This course is intended for construction workers, tradespeople, apprentices, and supervisors who regularly use hand and power tools on the job. It is especially important for workers in Ontario’s construction sector who must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Construction Regulation (O. Reg. 213/91). Employers can also assign this training to reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance across their teams.
