Propane Safety

Course Overview

The Propane Safety Awareness course provides essential training for workers who handle, store, transport, or work around propane in construction and industrial environments across Ontario.

Participants will learn about propane’s physical properties, key hazards, and safe work practices to prevent fires, explosions, carbon monoxide exposure, asphyxiation, and frostbite. The course also outlines legal requirements under Ontario legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Technical Standards and Safety Act (TSSA), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Act, and applicable CSA standards and WHMIS requirements.

This awareness-level training supports compliance while reinforcing the responsibilities of employers, supervisors, and workers when working with propane systems and equipment.
